My training philosophy is so, so much more than “getting into shape” and it should not only include nutrition and exercising, but also developing a positive mindset and outlook on life. Training should be fun, sweaty, mindful AND educational. That’s what you will receive as we work together.
Guided Stretching & Release Work
Movement doesn’t have to be all weights and sweating. Sometimes what your body craves is release, relaxation and understanding how to do this on your own. We will take the time to educate you how to safely stretch and use some helpful techniques to alleviate any sticky spots on your body.
“I started working with Amy because I had done physical therapy for knee pain but wasn’t seeing any progress. I knew Amy had a background in rehab and corrective exercise, and I was eager to work with her to help with my knee issues. From the very first session, Amy’s unique approach to my specific needs was always thoughtful and effective. I have been working with her for about three months already, and my knee pain has decreased significantly due to our work together. In addition to being knowledgeable, experienced, and versatile, she is an amazing person who genuinely cares about her clients.”

“One of my most missed activities during this period of sheltering in place are my trainings with Amy C. From the very first session, Amy impressed me with her wonderful attitude, excellent skills and her focus on proper body mechanics. I had trained with others previously who never paid the attention to details that Amy does. She is focused on her clients 100% and is invested in their wellness and individual goals. I regained my body strength and flexibility so quickly and I looked forward to every session. Mostly, she makes strength training successful and FUN!”

When I first started training with Amy, I had been dealing with a shoulder injury for over two years. It kept me from working out the way I was used to. I initially wanted to do training to learn how to work out again within the limitations of my injury. This wasn’t good enough for Amy. Within a few weeks, my range of motion dramatically improved and I started gaining my strength back. She was so aware of what I needed to be doing. Amy takes the time to assess her clients’ issues and goals and create a program for each individual. She has incredible knowledge and body awareness. You can tell how much thought Amy puts into her sessions. I can’t express how transformative it has been to be able to use my arm again. Obviously there are the physical improvements, but I also feel like myself again. I am so grateful that I found her.

As a person with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), strength training is critical to my health, as well as my fitness. Amy is a wonderful trainer who took initiative to learn about EDS and how to safely train something with EDS. She has gone further than I could have imagined in learning how to teach me strengthen my joints without giving me exercises that subluxate and dislocate my joints. Since that was my physical therapy experience until I was diagnosed with EDS at 19, I never thought strength training was something I could do without causing myself harm. Fortunately, Amy has taught me otherwise and I have significantly benefited from her guidance.

I had experienced increased joint hypermobility and pain due to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS). I had seen several other trainers in the past, but didn’t feel confident that my disease was understood and that workouts were modified accordingly for my safety. When I started training with Amy, however, I knew immediately that things would be different. She understands EDS and how to create a safe, yet challenging exercise regimen: she is always ready with ideas to adapt and adjust exercises, in the event I am experiencing discomfort and, conversely, if I feel I can push myself more. Amy is an expert and professional, and one of the kindest, most supportive souls I know. She has had such a positive affect on my life, and I cannot recommend her enough.
